Miss Eleanor is One

It’s so stereotypical to say, but I can’t believe, this little girl is already one! When Paul and I decided we were ready to add to our family, we had no idea what 2020 actually held in store. No one did. And I am struck by how blessed we were by this little one’s existence before everything became so complicated. She was and is a gift, that helped us keep things in perspective, while all around chaos ensued. Right when so many things, seemed to be and were going wrong, the promise of new life and a growing family were a comfort. (Don’t get me wrong, it was also stressful, lol) But God is good and always faithful. And I am so thankful, for the way He has used our daughter to work in both mine and Paul’s life.

Please enjoy these birthday images. We absolutely did this session the day after her birthday. My attempt on her birthday was met with many tears, because someone was very tired.

Her first birthday was a delight. Many of you may know, but for those who don’t, I am originally from MI. When Eleanor was born, my Mother and sister came down to be with me, for support and to hopefully meet the first grandbaby. Eleanor had other plans and I went into labor a week past her due date the night before my Mom and sister had to leave, to return home. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. So it was a joy to have my Mom, Dad, sister and her little one here to celebrate Eleanor’s first birthday. (Don’t misunderstand, we’ve made a few trips back and forth in the last year. So everyone has met before) But it felt full circle for me to have them at my side on Eleanor’s birthday.

We celebrated with both sides of the family, with cake and ice cream, as is tradition. And Eleanor was as delighted with a few of her new toys, as she was with the wrapping paper and ribbon. Eleanor is beyond blessed with relatives that care so deeply for her. Paul and I couldn’t do it, without all of their love and support.

Eleanor has six teeth and three more coming in fast. She is also on the cusp of walking. She pulled out the new trick of standing unassisted for these photos. While I haven’t noticed any words yet, her babbling becomes ever more complex and I won’t be surprised when she starts telling us exactly what she thinks.

She loves the outdoors and the pets, fully approves of four wheeler rides, and loves the pool. She is happy the majority of the time. Being tired is one of the few things that pushes her over the edge. She absolutely gets it from me, lol.

Happy Birthday baby girl! Your father and I love you!
