What a joy it is to return to my home state of Michigan to capture memories for my couples. This particular wedding was extra special, because Chelsea is my oldest sister Erika’s sister-in-law. (Try saying that a few times fast) Both my husband and I were in Erika’s wedding and it was so wonderful seeing all of her in-laws again. They honestly feel like family <3 Can we just ignore the fact that I totally did not recognize George, Chelsea’s younger brother, who was also in Erika’s wedding. He had to introduce himself, along with the other groomsmen, before I made the connection, lol.

And I truly forgot, that I was meeting Kaden for the first time, at the wedding. Through our correspondence, leading up to the big day, it felt like we were old friends. Kaden and Chelsea are so great together and were so sweet and understanding where my daughter is concerned. They were thrilled to let me bring her with me. She was the cutest little third shooter I ever did see. Along with my husband as second shooter, it was definitely a family affair.

In pure Michigan fashion, it was supposed to rain all day. But Michigan didn’t disappoint in holding the waterworks off, until the very end of the day. Yay for getting all of our portraits done before we got soaked! Yes, we did have to make a mad dash for the venue, as the storm descended rather suddenly. Kaden and Chelsea were troopers, braving the weather so I could bring my vision for them to life.
