Happy New Year! I’m excited to share this first family session of the year with you! This session was extra special for me, because it’s been a couple years since I’ve gotten to photograph this sweet family. Seeing them again was so nice, and I got to meet their new little one. Of course leave it to NC to give us snow and ice the day before their session, but it wasn’t enough to deter them and I’m so glad we were able to move ahead. And I’m especially grateful for the beautiful space we had to work with!

When Emily first contacted me about this session, she requested an indoor location, due to the time of year, and having a newborn. Totally understandable! But because I primarily shoot outdoors, I knew I’d have to do some digging. Initially, all I could find were spaces more oriented toward commercial photography. And if I’m honest I was starting to doubt if I could find anything similar to the picture I had in my head. And then enter @shootingbeautystudio! Y’all, I loved this space! It had so many options! Large beautiful windows for plenty of natural light, so many props, gorgeous neutral tones, and located in Graham, it couldn’t have been more perfect! I look forward to the day I can shoot there again.
