We enjoyed the 4th of July up in MI this year. It was a week of family time, firecrackers, water wars (a childhood game), picnics and of course sweet pictures! As promised in the maternity session I posted last week! I’ve got baby pictures for you. May I introduce Miss Charlotte! She is such a little sweetie and it was so fun seeing Sarah and Frank again. I got all the baby snuggles and it was the best! Baby Charlotte did so good for her pictures, what a little doll and Sarah and Frank, knocked it out of the park as usual. It is such a blessing to walk through life events with my couples. From engagement, to wedding, to maternity, to newborn. . . your story is precious and deserves to be told. Thank you for choosing me to tell it!

Miss Charlotte was about two weeks old, for her session. Perhaps you’ve heard that most newborn sessions should be scheduled within ten days of birth. I would say, it very much depends on what you’re looking for in your session. For the very styled, posed newborn photos, I would absolutely recommend doing them that early. The earlier the session, the squishier and sleepier your newborn is, and therefore it can be easier to pose them. I like to approach newborn sessions from a lifestyle perspective and that does allow for more wiggle room on the timing. I’ve done them as early as seven days and as late as a month. Really and truly the babies were adorable regardless. And waiting a bit longer can be great for Mom and Dad, who may not be feeling picture ready at ten days with a newborn.

We chose a neutral color palette. Sarah wore a floor length, white dress, and we paired it with some green for Frank. Add in a touch of pink for Charlotte and some gorgeous window light, and we achieved some magic!
